Epiphanies, Inc. to Deliver Free Social Media Webinar for NH Division of Economic Development’s “BizCast” Series

February 12th, 2010 by Lani and Allen

We’ve done a webinar or two before, but this will be the first time one of us has been webcast live in streaming video glory, and we’re pretty psyched. This session is primarily being promoted for New Hampshire audiences, but the information applies to businesses wherever they may be. Hope to “see” you there!

Gilford, NH (2/12/10) - With more than 330,000 NH residents on Facebook and 350 million overall, a billion YouTube streams being played every single day, and the US government asking Twitter to delay scheduled downtime because of its vital role in crisis communication across the world, it’s very clear – social media platforms are here to stay. In fact, social media channels are rapidly becoming some of the most preferred methods of communicating important information.

nhbizcastBut do you know how to maximize social media’s use for business purposes? Learn how during “New Mediums/New Messages – How Social Media is Transforming Communication,” the free NH BizCast webinar slated for Wednesday, February 17th from noon-1 p.m EST. It will be broadcast live online at www.NHEconomy.com.

“It’s not enough these days to rely on traditional communications and advertising vehicles,” said New Hampshire Division of Economic Development Interim Director Roy Duddy. “To keep pace, you really need to learn how to reach new audiences via social networking.”

“New Mediums/New Messages – How Social Media is Transforming Communication” is a Social Media Crash Course, covering trends, fears, and success stories, and exploring how they relate to the potential and power businesses and organizations have today. Offered by the New Hampshire Division of Economic Development, the February 17th BizCast will feature Allen Voivod, co-owner of Epiphanies, Inc.

Allen and his wife/business partner Lani have been featured widely in the media, including the NH Union Leader, Forbes.com, NH Business Review, Blog Talk Radio, NHPR, and New Hampshire Today. As founding members of the International Social Media Association, they have delivered presentations for the NH High Technology Council, Women Inspiring Women, and the American Society for Training and Development, among many other groups.

As is the case with all NH BizCasts, the webcast will be hosted live at the Comfort Inn (71 Hall Street) in Concord and will feature a live audience.

For more information and to attend the BizCast, visit www.NHEconomy.com. Those planning on participating in the live audience at the Comfort Inn are asked to pre-register by contacting Leslie Sherman at (603) 271-2591 or leslie.sherman@dred.state.nh.us.

Free Teleclass Reveals 6 Steps to Getting More Leads, Clients, and Results with Social Media Marketing

July 13th, 2009 by Lani and Allen

Summary: Participation in social networks continues to grow at a frenetic pace in 2009, and success-minded professionals are hungry for short cuts, straight-shooting advice, and results for their efforts. To meet that need, social marketing firm Epiphanies, Inc. is hosting a free teleclass, “The 6-Step Social Media Kick Start: How to Get More Leads, Clients, and Results (and Have a BLAST Doing It),” Wed. July 15th, 2009 at 1pm EST. Register at http://www.EpiphaniesInc.com/SocialMediaKickStart.php.

LACONIA, NH, July 14th, 2009  - Participation in social networks continues to grow at a frenetic pace in 2009. Facebook, at well over 300 million members is on track to triple in size this year, for example, and Twitter is growing more than five times faster than Facebook.

But as ever more entrepreneurs, corporate professionals, and key players in mission-driven organizations fold social media tools and platforms into their marketing activities, they find it’s not easy to get great results right from the start.

kickstartcallTo help these success-minded professionals, social marketing firm Epiphanies, Inc. is hosting a free teleclass, “The 6-Step Social Media Kick Start: How to Get More Leads, Clients, and Results (and Have a BLAST Doing It).” The live call takes place Wednesday, July 15th, 2009 at 1pm EST, and the registration form with event details is online at http://www.EpiphaniesInc.com/SocialMediaKickStart.php.

“On this highly-focused teleclass, we’ll share critical success strategies for social media, from mindset to time management and measurement,” says Lani Voivod, co-owner and Content Lover at Epiphanies, Inc. “Those are the foundational aspects that can make or break your social media marketing efforts.”

Lani, along with her husband and business partner Allen Voivod, will reveal the social media tools necessary for businesses to boost visibility, expand reach, outshine competitors, and get tangible results from their efforts. The teleclass is also an info-rich sneak peek of their six-week Social Media Kick Start Virtual Boot Camp, which begins July 20th.

“One older platform is especially important right now, to serve as the hub of your social media presence,” Allen says. “Another site has basically become a second Internet, entirely beyond the reach of the major search engines, and it’s an 800 lb. gorilla you can’t afford to ignore.

“Those make up two of the four elements we like to call your ‘Social Media Starter Kit.’ Without these tools in place, you and your business Will get left behind in 2010 and beyond.”

On June 15th, the Voivods designed and delivered the first annual “A-Ha!” NH Social Media Business Summit for 100 New Hampshire professionals from the private and public sectors, and they say this free preview class underscores key information presented at that day-long event.

“Last month’s live Summit introduced people to the potential of social networking, discussed strategic social marketing concepts, and debunked the myth that social media can’t be measured,” Lani says. “Now, we’re drilling down into core principles, to reach and serve professionals worldwide so they can move forward in their social media journey with confidence and clarity.”

The “The 6-Step Social Media Kick Start” teleseminar will be recorded, and a digital copy of the recording will be available to anyone who registers for it with their name and email address at http://www.EpiphaniesInc.com/SocialMediaKickStart.php.

Presenting the REAL stars of the NH Social Media Biz Summit…

June 12th, 2009 by Lani Voivod

Allen and I are so psyched to share that our first big event, the first annual “A-Ha!” NH Social Media Business Summit, is at max capacity at 100 people with a 40+ person wait list that grows every day! Of course, none of this would even be possible without the benevolent sponsorship of Public Service of New Hampshire, as well as support from our incredible, forward-thinking partners, the NH Division of Economic Development, and the NH “Stay, Work, and Play” initiative.

As it all happens just a few short days from now, the energy around here has been quite intense and focused, to say the least. Last-minute door prize donations are funneling in, agendas are being finalized, and Manchester Community Access Media has agreed to record the entire event for broadcast. (Isn’t that the coolest?!)

On the downside, one of our presenters, Microsoft Advertising’s New England Regional Sales Manager Frank Mulcahy, has come down with Type A Infuenza and won’t be able to join us, but alas, the show will go on. (Wishing you a speedy recovery, Frank!)

Still, most everything is falling into place in exquisite formation, thanks to the expert guidance and support of event mavens Leslie Sturgeon, President of Women Inspiring Women and NH SBA’s 2009 Women in Business Champion of the Year, and Maureen “Mo” Bresee, event and organizational consultant extraordinaire (and my dear friend of 30 years).

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, blogging, the magic of RSS feeds, YouTube, social media measurement, social marketing strategies…all these and more will be part of the Summit experience, and will surely inspire animated exchanges on the value, pitfalls, and possibilities of this booming Web 2.0 world.

But no event is anything without really awesome attendees. And I hate to brag, but we are THRILLED at the caliber of businesses and professionals who are investing in their social media success by creating the space to show up, learn, network, expand their possibilities, and PLAY on Monday.

In fact, we’re so happy about the roster of businesses, organizations, and agencies signed up for the event that we’d like to take a minute and share them here. Who knows - maybe they’re part of your own network, and you can reach out and ask them to share some of the tips, strategies, and big “A-Ha!” social media action steps they’re determined to implement after the 15th.

Ready? Here are businesses represented by the REAL STARS of the upcoming Social Media Success Summit, along with the towns and cities in which they either work or reside:

First Annual NH Social Media Business Summit Promises Power, Results, Success

May 22nd, 2009 by Lani and Allen

In recognition of the growing importance of social media marketing to the success of businesses large and small, the NH Division of Economic Development, in coordination with social marketing and success strategies firm Epiphanies, Inc., Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH), and the “Stay, Work & Play” initiative, will host the first annual “A-Ha!” NH Social Media Business Summit at PSNH, 780 North Commercial Street, Manchester, on Monday, June 15th from 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

“Social marketing isn’t just a buzzword or a fad. It’s the way that more and more savvy business professionals are choosing to communicate,” says Steve Boucher, Communications & Legislative Director for the NH Division of Economic Development. “If you’ve never tweeted or posted a photo of your new product on your Facebook account, you’re missing a valuable, low cost marketing opportunity.”

« 7 Powerful Ways to Use Social Media Right Now to Boost Visibility, Cultivate Relationships, Outshine Competitors, and Get Results

Today at the Action Success Summit: “Bah Humbug” to Marketing!

May 19th, 2009 by Allen Voivod

If you haven’t yet heard about the Action Success Summit, well, you’re in for a treat.

Sheila BuyukacarHosted by Sheila Buyukacar of the International MasterMind Action Group, it’s “a multi-expert, multi-day tele-summit designed for entrepreneurs ready to put the ACTION into their IDEAS!”

Now that’s a concept we can get behind. :)

The particular filter Sheila has asked all her guests to work through is to be sure that in whatever we present to you, Faithful Reader, we “take the guess work out of your decision making and connect you with the knowledge and skills needed by you and “your” expert team to turn your ideas into a working, tangible capability.”

Our session in this event is called “Marketing…Bah Humbug!  Creating a “Down ‘n Dirty”  Marketing Strategy You’ll Love and Profit From!” It’ll be an hour teleseminar, and in it you’ll learn:

  • Common problems entrepreneurs face or create for themselves when creating/implementing a marketing strategy
  • Why you REALLY need a marketing strategy…and why a business plan by itself isn’t enough
  • The “must-have” elements of a marketing strategy (and some of the “should haves” too)

You’ve gotta sign up at the link above to get the call-in details for our session, happening today at 11am Eastern, as well as the other awesome sessions. I’m not kidding about “awesome,” either. Beth Schneider of Process Prodigy is another one of the speakers, and I can vouch for her awesomeness personally. I’ve also listened to an interview with newsletter guru Jim Palmer in the last year, and liked him a lot, too.

I can’t speak to the rest, only because I haven’t had the pleasure of connecting with any of them before. But by the looks of things, Sheila’s put together a great roster of peeps, and for Pete’s sake, it’s a FREE event. So go sign up! Go on now!

Sustaining Your Business in Challenging Times

February 6th, 2009 by Allen Voivod

nhsbdcWe’re really looking forward to the 4th Annual Small Business Day at the State House next week (which isn’t exactly at the state house, but close enough for government work). We’ve been working with the awesome Heidi Edwards Dunn, who coordinates the statewide entrepreneurial education program for the New Hampshire Small Business Development Center, including this event. Here’s the official press release with all the details!

Durham – The New Hampshire Small Business Development Center (NH SBDC), an outreach program of the UNH Whittemore School of Business and Economics, will host a panel at the 4th Annual Small Business Day at the State House, Tuesday, February 10th, 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., Holiday Inn, Concord, NH, presented in conjunction with the NH Business and Industry Association. Sustaining Your Business in Challenging Times will offer expertise and practical information for small businesses struggling to stay afloat in this economy.

Panelists include Andrea O’Brien, Environmental Management Program Manager, NH SBDC; James Pratt, Commercial Lending, First Colebrook Bank; Allen Voivod, co-owner, Epiphanies, Inc., with moderator Mary Collins, State Director, NH SBDC. NH SBDC is continually looking for ways to help New Hampshire businesses be sustainable,” remarks Mary Collins, NH SBDC State Director. “For example, our e-Learning for Entrepreneurs program utilizes today’s technology to provide knowledge, tools, and resources for the state’s business owners. In this uncertain economy it is even more important that businesses statewide have access 24/7 to management assistance that will help strengthen their firm’s bottom line.”

Sponsored by Public Service of New Hampshire, Small Business Day is an opportunity for small business owners and managers to meet New Hampshire’s top policy-makers, learn more about legislative issues that could affect companies’ bottom lines, and receive valuable information about tools to help companies grow and prosper.

Your *Down ‘n Dirty* marketing questions, answered! (Event begins in 3 hrs, 54 minutes)

January 13th, 2009 by Lani and Allen

Hiya, good-lookin’. Or as Los Angeles Dodgers sportscaster Vin Scully likes to say, “Hi again, everybody, and a very pleasant good evening [or morning!] to you, wherever you may be!”

You may have heard about this “Down ‘n Dirty Marketing Planning for 2009″ 2-day teleseminar event for a while now, or maybe this is the first you’re hearing of it. Either way, since we’re putting the finishing touches on it (it starts Tuesday January 13th at 1pm Eastern - register here), we thought we’d take a minute to answer some important questions about the event.

1. “I want to attend, but what do I do if I have a scheduling conflict?”

As you might guess, there’s not going to be a time that’s good for every single person who wants to attend. That’s one reason why we’re recording the live calls, and including the digital versions of those recordings as part of the whole “Down ‘n Dirty Marketing Planning” package.

The other reason we’re recording the calls is so you can listen to them again and again - when it’s convenient, when your planning needs a tune-up, or when the next year rolls around!

2. “There’s a ton of free marketing planning information out there. Why sign up for your teleseminar event?”

Some of that information centers around “traditional” marketing plans. You know the ones. They’re 25 pages long, academically thorough, and ultimately intimidating. If you’ve tried doing one before and never finished it, then don’t keep trying something that doesn’t work for you! Find a better solution instead. (Hey, there’s a reason we’ve named this event “Down ‘n Dirty” - it gets to the point, and cuts out all the blather!)

And as for the rest of the marketing planning information out there, well … ultimately what it comes down to is trust. We’ve filtered our information over the years from a number of sources we trust, as well as our own experience as small biz owners with corporate clients. You can do the same for yourself - or you can find someone you trust to be the filter for you. Our goal is to be that filter. :)

3. “If I don’t sign up for the live event then kick myself after while stewing in a pit of regret, can I still get all the information you’ll be sharing on the calls and in the other materials?”

The short answer is yes - for now. The longer answer is, yes, you’ll still have an opportunity to get the exact same package, but it won’t last long. After January 31st, the price will increase by $50.

Only you know if this Program is right for you. One thing’s for certain, though - all of us need plans to get where we want to go. In life, in business, you name it. Here’s your chance to work a plan that’s smart, quick, and painless. Go for it!

To your continued success,
Lani & Allen

P.S. There are negative old sayings about “things not going according to plan” and “God laughing at people who make plans.” But when you stop to think about it … when has NOT having a plan ever been the better choice?

Please join us for “Down ‘n Dirty Marketing Planning for 2009.” Here’s the link, one more time, so sign up today:

Marketing help for the hopeless geniuses among us

January 5th, 2009 by Allen Voivod

See if this sounds familiar…

Nobody can do what YOU can do, in the specific way you do it. Regardless of how many people have a similar skill set, you have a certain style, personality, and attitude that can’t be matched by anyone else! You’re so good at what you do, and enjoy it so much, you decided to turn it into a business for yourself.

Unfortunately, when it comes to promoting yourself, marketing your products, or selling your services, all the confidence you have in yourself just flies out the window, and you feel as awkward as a flamingo pretending to be an ostrich.

You might ask someone for marketing help, but you’re not sure what that would look like. You see only the cost of marketing, because you haven’t seen or don’t believe in marketing’s return on investment. Maybe you have ideas but you’re not sure where to start, or you don’t think you can write marketing material, or you think “marketing” is a synonym for that four-letter-word - “SELL.”

Now, here comes 2009. A fresh and clean start. How will you make this year different from the one before? How will you move past the overwhelm, leave behind the regrets about what you did or didn’t do last year, and focus on “sharing the value” rather than “getting the business” (which, happily, puts more money in your bank account)?

In the spirit of Radical Honesty, I have to admit that the above paragraphs hit pretty close to home. I also know, from meeting and talking to business owners across the country, that we’re not the only ones out there with these challenges.

Which is why we’re inviting you to our 2-Day “Down ‘n Dirty Marketing Planning for 2009″ teleseminar event. Don’t make marketing planning any harder than it has to be. Come play with us! Invest a couple hours and what you’d pay for a decent night out to roll your sleeves up, figure out the most strategic, cost-effective ways to drive more sales and profits in 2009…and then plug ‘em into a plan that works.

Even if you can’t make the live calls for this event, you still get the digital recordings, along with a raft full of templates and bonuses.

Besides, what’s it going to cost you NOT to get the help you need in planning for a better 2009?

Read more about it and reserve your seat here, and we hope to “see” you on the calls!
