“The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do.”

I agree.
What say you?

I wouldn’t say that it’s the greatest pleasure, but it is fun.

I would call it a great motivator - to me the pleasure is probably the means, not the ends.

Although what you wrote can be a great pleasure it isn’t the greatest for me. Being with my family, and particularly my husband, tops everything. The feeling of accomplishment I get after I’ve done something extremely well also tops that. I think the reason that your quote doesn’t resonate with me as much as it could is that I look more inwardly now and don’t care as much what others opinions are of me and what I can or cannot do as I used to. There are lots of naysayers out there, and I for one am trying to avoid them.

Hey Beth,
Thanks for the comment. I totally understand where you’re coming from, and you’re right. I posted that quote just a year ago, and even in this short year I’d have to admit my thinking has shifted. Being with my hubby and two boys IS a blessing and life’s true greatest pleasure — along with laughing with my closest friends. Thanks for helping to keep me focused on what’s really important.
Best,
Lani
