It’s “Help a Breakup Survivor” Day!!! (Today, April 30th) Are you in?

April 30th, 2007 by Lani Voivod

lisasteadmanpresspic.jpgSome email alerts are better than others. This morning, I got the one I’ve been crossing my fingers about for the last year.

My amazing friend, Lisa Steadman (aka The Relationship Journalist), has written the ultimate breakup survivor guide - It’s a BreakUP, Not a BreakDOWN - and it’s finally available on Amazon.com and in bookstores near you!

But wait! There’s more…

In fact, I’ll let Lisa tell you herself:

itsabreakupnotabreakdown.jpgOn Monday, April 30 I will be appearing on iVillage Live in two segments talking about 1. recent celebrity breakups and 2. how to heal and move on after a divorce. The show reaches hundreds of thousands of viewers and I believe it’s the perfect time for the besteller strategy. Here’s where you come in.

Between 10 a.m. Monday, April 30 and 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, I invite you to buy my book online or purchase the book at your local bookstore.

By all of us (myself included!) purchasing the book at the same time within a 24 hour period, along with all those iVillage viewers who may be going through a breakup of their very own, we greatly increase my book’s chances of climbing the Amazon sales rank and moving up the bestseller charts.
If we break the Top 100 on Amazon, we win. If we don’t, we still win because people are still buying copies of my book, helping my sales rank climb and ultimately lending to my book’s success.

Here’s the God’s honest truth. I love my book. I’m so proud of it. Not just because I wrote it but because of its potential to help those going through a breakup to wake up, heal, and move on. I wrote it because I lived it and the other side of a bad breakup is beautiful, amazing, and so worth the initial pain! We’ve all been there, right? (The answer’s yes)

Are you with me? I hope so! Here are those dates again…

Between 10 a.m. Monday, April 30 and 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, I invite you to buy my book online or purchase the book at your local bookstore.

And be sure to tune in to iVillage Live on Monday to watch me on the show. It’s going to be lots of fun! One last thing - and it’s very exciting! BreakupChronicles.com has been redesigned and launched as a blog within my new site LisaSteadman.com . The blog is now easier to update which means more content on a daily basis for you! From breakup stories to advice to book news and more,

I hope you’ll enjoy the new and improved BreakupChronicles.com . (The kinks are still being ironed out. More to come about the new site soon…) And of course, if you don’t buy the book during the 24 hour window, you may still purchase it at any time. Thanks for your ongoing support. I couldn’t have come this far without all of you!

xoxo,
Lisa

Thanks in advance for helping to make this super-talented go-getter’s dreams come true. I blogged about Lisa back in November as an exceptional example of how to “A-Ha Yourself!” Now, we get to see Lisa’s extraordinary journey continue to unfold…and hopefully be a part of the booming success. :)

P.S. Oh, by the way, Lisa’s “Help Make My Book a Bestseller!” strategy here is awesome. I’ve seen it work wonders with some of the big-gun marketing folks like Michael Port, Stephanie Frank, and Jack Canfield, to name a few. If you’ve got your own book coming out anytime soon, you could learn a thing or two from this savvy businesswoman! Please, support Lisa, so we can all see where she goes and what she does next!

OMG, INBD

April 27th, 2007 by Allen Voivod

The ivory tower folks have been warning us about this. That if we keep on going the way we are, the damage and destruction will last for untold generations.

Global warming? Feh. Nothing compared to the dangers of text messaging. Here’s the latest warning flag. According to a Reuters story:

The rising popularity of text messaging on mobile phones poses a threat to writing standards among Irish schoolchildren, an education commission says.

The frequency of errors in grammar and punctuation has become a serious concern, the State Examination Commission said in a report after reviewing last year’s exam performance by 15-year-olds.

In 2003, Irish 15-year-olds were among the top 10 performers in an international league table of literacy standards compiled by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

And to think, I dared to be impressed with this Cingular/AT&T commercial for capturing the latest generational version of parents and kids speaking an entirely different language:

Now, I’m not a fan of typos or dropped punctuation, even in the blogging world, where such small gaffes are not only accepted, but welcomed. But if were the Irish education board, I’d be more worried about students pasting content wholesale from random Internet websites to create their written reports. Grammar rules are the easy part. It’s the ability to think and analyze for themselves that we need our kids to learn most.

Besides, I can’t remember the last time I used the future perfect continuous tense in content or conversation.

Special last-minute opportunity for you tonight at 8:55 pm EST…

April 17th, 2007 by Lani Voivod

Here’s the deal - I’m WAY behind on email these days. If I wasn’t, I would’ve made this opportunity public on our blog much earlier than this. But since I can’t change what’s in the past, here I am, doing my part to get this opportunity out to any of the lucky few who happen upon it during the next few hours…

adam-100806.jpgOur friend, Mastermind leader, and Marketing Mentor, Adam Urbanski, is offering a teleseminar tonight that’ll be loaded with good advice, strategic tips, and marketing know-how for your biz. It’s called “Client Attraction Secrets,” and it’s scheduled for 6pm PST (9pm EST) TONIGHT, April 17th.

The information Adam’s gonna share tonight will no doubt inspire ways for you to:

  • Be more effective with your marketing
  • Make more money, and
  • Get the results you want and need for your business success

The admission for the 90-minute call is $99. But, since we’re among a handful of folks who’ve been lucky enough to work with Adam one-on-one since May 2006, he’s given us a VIP Access Code we can share on our blog and with our Inciter subscribers that offers $70 OFF the regular fee.

In other words, you click through THIS LINK, sign up for the call, and you pay only $20. That’s only TWENTY BUCKS for hundreds of dollars of top-notch information.

adam.bmpAdam has guided us through thick and thin during the last year. We’re now bringing in 2-3 times more money every single month than we did before we started working with him, and our projections for the second half of 2007 are even higher. We work smarter, enjoy ourselves more, have better clients, and bring more value to those we work with. As you can imagine, all this makes us very, very happy.

Most importantly, though, we understand business and marketing better than we ever hoped to - even though we’ve been studying this stuff for years and years.

You may or may not know Adam. Heck, you may or may not even know us, for that matter.

But we honestly cannot recommend this guy more. You’ll get far more than your money’s worth, whether you pay the $20 or the $99, we guarantee it.

Hope to hear you on the call. Just click this link, www.EpiphaniesInc.com/vipinvite.php, and you’re in!

P.S. If he finds out I shared the above pic of him in his yellow tee and cutsie stuffed animal made from nothing but rolled-up hotel towels at our October, 2006 Mastermind meeting, he’ll kill me! Still, feel free to tease him about it. :)

Your Urban Word of the Day, and its link to Animal House

April 16th, 2007 by Lani Voivod

Thank you to our friend and fellow content strategist Eve Orio of www.GoldenSummit.com for flagging today’s Urban Word of the Day, brought to her by www.urbandictionary.com:

April 16, 2007: epiphanot

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=epiphanot&defid=2352903

An idea that at first seems like an amazing insight (at least to the conceiver) but later turns out to be pointless, mundane, stupid, or incorrect, and often is the root cause of bad decisions. Mostly occurs under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Here is a bimutual epiphanot from one of Americas cinematic masterpieces, National Lampoon’s “Animal House”…

Larry: Okay. That means that our whole solar system could be, like one tiny atom in the fingernail of some other giant being. (Jennings nods) This is too much! That means one tiny atom in my fingernail could be–

Jennings: Could be one little tiny universe.

Larry: Could I buy some pot from you?

As a co-owner of Epiphanies, Inc., a word like this is priceless. Finally, we’ve got a name for all those “circular file” ideas that don’t pass muster after the wine buzz wears off!

“Focusing on” a Guru With the Mostess — Melanie Benson Strick

April 13th, 2007 by Lani Voivod

melaniestrick.jpgAllen and I LOVE Melanie Benson Strick. As “The Entrepreneur’s Success Coach,” Melanie is amazing in every single way - upside down, forward, backward, and sideways. She studies success, entrepreneurial do’s and don’ts, mindset, wealth, lifestyle, and how to kick butt in life around our passions, authentic talents, and best selves.

adam-melanie-allen-lani3.jpgHaving met Melanie several times - we’ve seen her speak at boot camps, socialized with her, worked with her, chatted with her on the phone, learned from her, and laughed with her many times (especially over the course of the last 10 months) - we can say she’s a dynamic, genuine, calm, focused, driven, and wonderful woman who wants to help as many people succeed in life and business as possible. We tell you this because you can learn a heck of a lot from this chick, and it would be a shame to hoard a resource like Melanie all to ourselves.

I was inspired to blurt this little fan entry about Melanie because I just read her latest “Success Connection” ezine article, Your Focus Can Make or Break a Million Dollar Opportunity: A “Real Life” Story. (I also listened to her great podcast of the article, which is perfect for those who prefer listening to reading! Check out all her podcasts here.)

After sharing a story from one of her own recent experiences in which millions of bucks were left on the table of a business strategy exercise to deal with a faux problem costing *just* $300,000, Melanie offers five powerful questions we can all use (and from which we can all benefit!) in our day-to-day business adventures. They are:

  • What does the problem cost compared to the opportunities on the table?
  • Will having this problem cause you to be unable to pursue the opportunities (in other words, does it negatively impact your resources or time?)
  • What is the worst that could happen if you don’t resolve it? Compare that to the positives of what would happen if the opportunity is achieved.
  • Would the problem cause long-lasting damage that you could not recover from?
  • If you focus on creating a bigger opportunity, would it eliminate or mitigate the problem?

There’s a lot of talk about mindset these days. It’s really helpful to see what a difference a shift in mindset can make to your bottom line, whether it’s a pretend bottom line or the one that’s paying your mortgage.

Soooo….

Where are the opportunities YOU’RE missing in your life and business, because the “big, fat, hairy problems” are blocking your view?

Maybe, just maybe, the best way around the problems in your life and biz is a head-first dive into the opportunities that’ll make ya soar right around ‘em. :)
